Finished Object Friday

Good Morning!  Yeah it is Friday.  I'm excited to have several weeks with something to show.  This is Powerful Pleats by Gwen Bortner.  When the last Knitter's magazine came out, I fell in love with this skirt.  To the point where I ordered the yarn on line that night.  I have never done that before.  It is done in Claudia Handpaint Linen Lace.

I have taken several of Gwen's classes at TKGA and she is an awesome teacher (great handouts) and wonderful person.  This yarn is really awesome - very fine so not as scratchy or difficult to work with as some linens.  The body is done in a technique called Navajo plying so it is tripled and prevents color pooling in unattractive ways.  The bottom ruffle is done in two strands held together.  These pictures were done on Mother's Day but I also wore it this week to work and it held up great.  No bagging or putting a seat in it.

This is my reason for celebrating Mother's Day!  I had on heels or else he would have been towering over me.

I hope you have a great weekend.  Head over to Tami's and Wisdom Begins in Wonder to see the other great projects and get inspired.

    1. About 2,500 yards, so yes a lot. The bottom pleat took forever.

  5. I LOVE THAT SKIRT!

I keep looking at skirt patterns...and have one I think I'm going to make. Yours totally inspires me to get off my butt and start knitting it.

    You look fabulous wearing yours.
