Finished Object Friday
Yeah, it's Friday. I'm very excited to share my white lace. In general I am very happy with it. It is 30 inches in diameter to give you a sense on size and was made in DMC opera 20 cotton on size two needles. The only thing I need to fix is blocking. The crochet edging is curling up. I think ironing instead of just blocking. And maybe starch - honestly I haven't used starch since the 80's, do they make it any more? I'm giving away my age there.

Starch? I've heard of it but never used it. I think they still sell spray starch at my grocery. I think you should be pleased with your lace, it's lovely!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I haven't done anything quite as delicate and detailed as that. Now I know what to aim towards!
ReplyDeleteThey make fabric stiffener that you can buy in fabric stores like Joann's, or you can Google some recipes for it and make a starch out of cornstarch or sugar.
